The progress of science has always been shaped by a simple but profound question: why does a phenomenon occur?<\/em> While observation initiates inquiry, it is mechanistic understanding that transforms knowledge into insight. As science enters an era marked by high-throughput technologies, computational power, and large datasets, the importance of explanation has never been greater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biological Reports<\/em> is launched with the clear objective of addressing this need. The journal is dedicated to publishing research that moves beyond description to illuminate the causal processes governing natural, engineered, and social systems. It is founded on the belief that scientific advancement is sustained not by accumulation of results, but by the depth with which those results are interpreted and understood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
